Grand Daddy Purple Feminised is a renowned strain bred by Ken Estes, a cross between Purple Urkle and Big Bud. These feminized seeds from 00 Seeds are sourced from a cutting of the original US strain. These plants are known for their vibrant colors, delightful flavor, and highly therapeutic effects, particularly for pain relief. They are suitable for cultivation both indoors and outdoors.
Indoor growers are recommended to use the Sea of Green (SoG) technique, with 16 plants per square meter and 4 weeks of vegetative growth without apical pruning. Pruning of the lower branches can be done safely during the first two weeks of flowering to promote the development of a robust central cola. Indoor yields typically reach about 450 grams per square meter during an 8 to 10-week flowering period, depending on the phenotype. It’s advised to use a light and airy soil mix and allow it to dry out between waterings.
Outdoor yields range from 300 to 600 grams per plant, with harvests typically occurring in the first half of October in the northern hemisphere or April in the southern hemisphere. This strain is also excellent for making extracts.
Grand Daddy Purple Feminised offers a delightful aroma and flavor profile, reminiscent of grapes and wild berries, with a smooth and delicious quality. Extracts are particularly fruity. While THC levels are around 20%, the ‘entourage effect’ of all the cannabinoids and terpenes working together enhances the overall experience. Despite its indica lineage, Grand Daddy Purple is not an overly sedating strain, but rather provides a very relaxing high with potent analgesic properties.
