The Californian Orange is one of those heritage strains that has stood the test of time for good reason. She’s a hybrid that leans slightly to the indica side in structure but carries that old-school uplifting sativa buzz we all love. Most phenos push heavy citrus, think orange peel, fresh lime, and sometimes even mandarin candy, with the occasional floral or tropical twist popping up if you dig through enough beans.
She’s easy to grow, topping out around 1–2 meters depending on veg time and training. Expect good internodal spacing, hearty side branching, and buds coated in thick, sticky resin that creeps into the fan leaves. While the THC isn’t through the roof (typically around 16–24%), the experience is strong thanks to the terpene blend, mainly limonene and myrcene, and the effect is clear-headed, euphoric, and energising with a mellow comedown.
One of the best parts? She makes great hash and rosin. Those terps really pop in extract form, and the resin yield is surprisingly decent for a strain of her age. She’s also a cup winner multiple times over, proving her worth indoors, outdoors, and even on the extract scene. If you’re after a strain that’s reliable, flavorful, and a bit nostalgic, this one’s a keeper.
